Throughout
Help, Inc.’s history, it has demonstrated
innovation, timeliness and the ability to quickly adapt to changing
realities.
The organization
was founded in 1998, by a group of like-minded
socially conscience volunteers. It is the story of how a leap of
faith eventually would change the lives of hundreds of thousands of
low-income people across the world. These volunteers were determined
to work together internationally to achieve greater impact to
empower the disadvantaged by their collective efforts. The name
“Help” comes from the acronym Helping Empower Local People.
By 2001, we had expanded our work to other countries to
reflect our broader mission. We quickly shifted from simply
providing human service assistance to focusing on long-term
solutions to poverty and education. Our first development project
began in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A. in 2000. Since then, Help, Inc.
has grown, evolve and gained national and international recognition
for quick-response, high-impact, cost-effective programs around the
globe.
Since our founding, Help, Inc. has been committed to
good stewardship of the gifts entrusted to us. Over the last five
years, more than 90 percent of resources have been allocated
directly to programs.
Our work has touched families and
communities in more than 10 nations across the world. We have
delivered more than $5 million in economic development assistance,
including food, shelter, health care, education, employment,
environment and technology.
Today, Help, Inc.
helps more than fifty thousand people each year recover
from disasters, build stronger communities and find their own
solutions to self-sufficiency. Help, Inc. is working to become part
of a movement, which is capable of global advocacy to global issues.
We are aiming to create ways of working and structures appropriate
to global action in a complex and closely-knit world.
Help, Inc. works with partners –
developers, investors, government, community-based nonprofits and
others – to reach our common goal.
Help, Inc.
partnership organizations are based in: United States,
